Linda
Words and Music: Giovanni Lapelazzuli
Linda
has always been the most appreciated among the few songs I wrote, and
probably also the most misunderstood. Some people asked to me about
Linda and the person I was thinking when I wrote it. Well, if somewhere
a real meaning can be found...I was just thinking about all the strange
thoughts that rushed in my mind during the first high school year, that
I attended quite far from home. And that's all.
Play it Trial
Linda was a ten
years old young woman from a suburb
not so shy, quite pretty face, her fragile legs, her lovely grace,
she's comin back from school right now alone.
Staring down into the ground her nice big eyes seemed dreamy
crazy notions pushed her heart and made it move upside down
What will ever happen to you girl?
So go and tell them everything that you've seen
around you,
but don't forget this is your World, they could not understand you,
but probably all those word she says, they're just turning inside out.
Take the first train,
take the first train home,
You say never, you say nevermore I'm gonna push myself so far,
I'm not a woman.
Mama this is my
boyfriend, and we feel good together
all my friend say he's very rich, and that's what really matter...
well if I'm lucky he's got a bit of brains.
Hey, do you really think that I could easily end up walking,
do you really think, she said, that I'm no good and You're so great.
Well, honey I'll be back one of this days.
Take the first train,
take the first train home,
You say never, you say nevermore I'm gonna push myself so far,
I'm not a woman.
I see Linda along
the highway, she's walking on her own,
Yes I see she's dressing in white and she's just ten years old.
